Semester Project
My semester project will be a story, which will be told in a video as an episode type. There will be three episodes. The topic I chose is the Equal Rights Amendments (1923-1972). The first episode will be about the Lucretia Mott Amendment, proposed to Congress 1923-1942. It says, “Men and women shall have equal rights throughout the United States and every place subject to its jurisdiction. The second episode will be based on the Alice Paul Amendment, proposed to Congress 1943-1972. This one states “Equality of rights under law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of sex”. The last episode will be the Equal Rights Amendment, passed by Congress in 1972 but not ratified by the states. “Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any States on account of sex, Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this Article, Section 3. This amendment shall take effect two years after ratification.” My episode will be made as an anime or cartoon type and will reflect these events.
This is VERY interesting! It seems you have done extensive research. I am excited to see how you might be able to pull off an animation for this project. The content is superb and I think your approach is perfect in order to attract a wider audience who would benefit from a better understanding of equal rights legislation based on gender. I look forward to seeing the finished episodes!
