Semester Project
I have decided to stick with my original idea for the semester project. Which will be a blog addressing censorship between men and women. Men's nipples are not censored while women's are. I will be using Tumblr as my platform. I will post pictures I find regarding censorship and reblog them. If I am able to, I will personally photograph nipples of both men and women. I have been using the Free the Nipple movement as inspiration.

If you weren't already going to before, perhaps before you begin to post pictures regarding censorship on the blog you intend to start, you should create a short, detailed post discussing censorship, what it means to you, why you think it exists in the first place, why you think it shouldn't be the case, why you chose this topic as your subject, why other people should be interested or want to be a against censorship just as you are, etc. Basically provide some context for your blog, what it will be about and stuff like that. I hope I helped a bit lol.
ReplyDeleteYou should be careful with the images as some may be offended but I think this is very interesting since censorship especially with women images is popular.

You seem to have followed a pattern of very short and incomplete project proposals. Please include research and art examples and inspiration that will influence this project. Why are you making this? Who is your audience?

ReplyDeletePlease be sure to use careful research and the feminist art movement to help you address this very important but controversial subject. Your project will be much stronger and stand more firmly in its critique if it is well informed by research. I think that the Free the Nipple campaign is a great place to start (and they have tons of resources and information) but remember to use scholarship, history and art history as well.
