Semester project: Remembering Judy Cajuste

When I was a freshman in high school my friend was murdered. During research for this project I came across women artist who used crime scene photos to make people aware of the affects that wars have on innocent people. They set out to keep the memory alive of all the innocent victims who lost their lives because of a senseless act of violence. My friend was 14 years old when her life was taken from here. 9 years later the case remains unsolved. As time continued to pass the less people talked about the heinous act and the more people began to forget. Justice needs to be served and my friends memory along with everyone whose lost their lives deserves to be remembered.

I created a tumblr page to tell the story of my friend, Judy Cajuste. I tried my best to keep her alive as a person and not just thought of as another victim to a heartless violent act. I also high lighted the artist who inspired my project. I choose to do a collage of a crime scene with a sort of replica of  photos of evidence that have been obtained from the case. I am a criminal justice major and things like this have always interested me. The death of my friend has also always stuck with me. It still to this day shocks me that someone can take someones life and continue to walk through life like nothing ever happens. I want to make people aware that things like this can happen to anybody. I will continue to fight for justice no matter how many years pass. Ill always remember my friend.
