Semester Project (Juan Rios)

My interests? Fitness, picking up a barbell and getting calluses representing hard work and dedication. Fitness itself does not just apply to a single gender, there now has been an increase in the amount of females joining the movement, whether you see them in the gym, on YouTube, or bodybuilding competitions. Yes, body building. Since the 1970's female body building has been on the rise, where females train as hard as males do for these events. The point I am ultimately trying to convey is that women joining the fitness movement and/or body building events shows them trying the battle the male gaze. I have created a blog devoted to fitness, where it currently provides some information that suggests why you should stay fit (some can apply to males) and a post explaining the male gaze and revealing how they are battling the gaze. But that post also reveals how it is still in tact, therefore showing how this battle is surely to continue in the long run.

Here is the link to my blog.
If that doesn't work for whatever reason, here it is: http://sculptingbodies.blogspot.com/
